28th-Oct-2004 08:07 pm - letter from friends
staring
My duck friends, Rocky and Genevieve, decided to migrate a month or so ago. Well, I finally got a letter from them and I thought I'd share it.

Dear Miss Kitty,
It's been a long, long trip. We made the mistake of picking up a map at McDonalds, so we got a little bit lost. We had planned to make it to Puerto Vallarta in a couple of weeks, but we took a wrong turn at the Hamburgler's Shack, and that more than doubled the length of our trip. We're in Mexico, but not quite in Puerto Vallarta. Neither of us speak the language, but that hasn't been a problem. I guess we're still close to the border, so they basically speak English. We'd heard about "Tex-Mex," but I'd always thought it was a hybrid of Texan English and Spanish. However, it sounds an awful lot like plain English with an accent.

I hope you are saying warm, Miss Kitty. It's surprisingly cold here in sunny Mexico, so I can just imagine what it must be like in Fremont. Still, we're keeping warm. We're sitting in Sam's Monkey Tree Pub, which seems to be quite a swinging place. We are going to stay here for a few days and then head on to PV.

Say "Hi" to all of your internet friends.

From Yellowknife in sunny Mexico we are
Your friends,
Rocky and Genevieve!
